First of all, calling this a "tabletop" fountain stretches the definition of the word... it would have to be a very large table, or one you'd like nothing else on, to really be a tabletop. I personally have it on the floor.

With that said, it has a lovely sound, and does its job well. Two of the bells sit on floating mounts that move around the other six fixed-position bells based on the water flow. This works fairly well, except that for the most part, two of the fixed bells come in contact with the floating bells every revolution, and the floating bells rarely touch the other four fixed bells, giving the fountain less of a variety of sound than it could otherwise have... not that it's not lovely anyway.

I think this would be perfect in a sun room, in an entrance for an office, or in a living room if you like fountains.

We set this up on the corner of our Kitchen bar area. It is perfect! If you use Distilled water like it recomends, you won't get the nasty buildup. The bells are not too loud when they chime so it is great to have in the house.

I was dissappointed in the sound of the chimes. They sound cheap. I was expecting a nice tone since they were adveritised as Woodstock chimes. They chime erradictly and it is not nice to listen to.
